yoga & meditation
What are the benefits?
In yoga we say "Inflexible body, inflexible mind." Yoga uses poses, or Asanas to heal the body, train the mind and connect with ones Higher Self. Though positions can be done quickly, moderately, slowly or even held for several minutes, it is important to know when and why to adjust the length held in a pose and which poses are right for a practitioner.
Yoga can be used to help improve many areas of ones life no matter the cause, such as:
• Increase flexibility
• Better muscle strength and tone
• Clarity of Mental Focus
• Weight reduction
• Improve respiration, energy and vitality
• Increase peace of mind
• Protection from Injury
• Improve metabolism
• Increase cardio and circulatory health
• Improve athletic performance
• Increase connection to Higher Self
You should seek medical advice before doing any alternative holistic practice such as Yoga.
Fun Fact: The physical practice we call Yoga today, was in fact invented my ancient monks in order to sit and meditate for longer. They observed animals - though they lay around so much of their day - stretch often and never seem to be bothers by all the laying around. Stretching, moving and posing certain ways drastically improved their ability to sit for hours of even days at a time in deep meditation.
"Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes." Carl Jung
The right meditation will change your life, and that is a promise. Below will find an extensive record of the advantages of mediation backed by modern science, but its benefits are not limited to the list that follows:
• Reduction of stress
• Decreased anxiety
• Improved emotional health
• Mental Clarity
• Enhances self awareness
• Improve attention span and focus
• Reduction in memory loss
• Improve mood
• Increase positive feelings and actions
• Better coping with addictions
• Improve sleep
• Reduction of pain
• Deepen patience and compassion
• Improve blood pressure
Though meditation is right for everyone, not all meditations are safe for every practitioner. If you are new to mediation with a history of PTSD, mental health issues, or trauma please seek the help of a professional before beginning your meditation practice.
