“art is enduring an experience, figuring out how to translate it through artistic sensibility and then sharing it with an audience in an attempt to provide the viewer with a new experience.” - Tracy Tomchuk
In her paintings, Tracy Tomchuk experiments with mixed mediums in anticipation of uncontrolled chemical reactions. She uses these techniques to construct relatable human faces while maintaining the underlying theme of the human experience. As the media is layered on to the canvas, the paint constructs spontaneous changes within the composition - constructing a new dimension of their identity.
The tangible physical interactions of the media on these paintings are detrimental to the viewers experience of the work - looking closely to find the many intricate details within the composition. Just as in life, we create opportunity while the universe provides experiences. As memories are formed they lock into new unforeseen layers of our character, the same way we see this happen on the canvas. Each painting is meant to mirror life, relationships and the human experience.
Every painting is one of a kind and impossible to replicate.
